What I hope to improve for you
Arlington faces larger challenges due to our relative success and the wonderful spot we occupy that's 'a little bit country a little bit city'. These include:
Arlington faces larger challenges due to our relative success and the wonderful spot we occupy that's 'a little bit country a little bit city'. These include:
Advocating against increasing cost of living and decreasing affordability of renting or owning a home or business in our town
Confronting and exposing threats from high cost density, 'density bonuses' for developers and knocking down cheaper housing to make more expensive housing
Fighting to highlight and correct Governance issues in town leadership that have separated unelected Town Officials from the people who live and work here
Providing better ideas and to avoid wrecking what works so nicely: A town close to transit, not too urban, not too suburban, cheaper to live in than most places around us, good for kids - and good for a nice walk or a walk to our shops and restaurants

Longtime resident of EDGEHILL Road.
A product of, a parent of a student from, and a supporter of Arlington schools
A long-time Town Meeting Member in Precinct 11 and, earlier, in Precinct 3
Founding Member of Arlington Residents For Responsible Redevelopment, a grassroots collection of neighbors working to preserve affordability and climate resiliency and to provide oversight of Town Officials
Longtime member of Sustainable Arlington and strong supporter of solar and greener technology that allow us to pollute less and save more money
Nearly life-long Arlington resident, with time off for:

Peace Corps Volunteer, Kazakstan
Development Worker for USAID in Kazakstan and Kyrgyzstan
Time spent living in Somerville, in the 'Paris of the 90s', Davis Square. Couldn't afford it, couldn't park...Arlington occupies the 'sweet spot' between the urban and the suburban and I'm dedicated to that.

In a nutshell, I will work to keep and improve our natural affordability, open spaces and the reasons that you and I moved here. I will support a better more diverse town. I will support only changes that make it more affordable for people to live here or to move here, while celebrating what we do right and while supporting our schools and services. I will oppose changes that would displace our residents and businesses or make us unaffordable to would-be Arlingtonians.

Let you know what goes on in Town boards, committee meetings and Town Meeting, when it affects you, your home or business and your neighborhood.
Publish the issues confronting Town Meeting and our neighborhoods via blog and email updates during Town Meeting season
Attend the many meetings: ARB, ZBA, Select Board, Sustainable Arlington and other meetings to discover and comment to ensure our town is run for our benefit - and let you know when items that affect you are going to be discussed.
